Libertia is proud to be one of the few Kennel Club Accredited breeders in Ireland. Peri has also taken all her required Kennel Club exams, stewarded at many International FCI shows, attended many breed specific seminars, with renowned breed specialists, Raymond Triquet, Herr Christopher Habig, Ann Marie Class and Bas Bosch, she has taken breed specific exams and is currently the only breed specialist in Ireland, she has judged at both Open Shows and Breed Club shows, Peri is on the Kennel Club judging list for Championship shows “My passion for this wonderful breed has led me to want to gain as much knowledge as possible for both the future of the breed and for my own Dogues, I believe that when I have nothing left to learn then I have nothing left to give or share with this breed”.

Welcome to the new web-site of Libertia, we are a small family run hobby Show Kennels run by Mark and Peri Burnside together with our  children.

Like many people, our first introduction to the Bordeaux was the film Turner & Hooch, which was love at first sight. The first Burnside cuddle was many years ago at puppy training classes in England, where we soon became involved with the breed and became lucky enough to own our first of many  Bordeauxs which we brought to Ireland when we  moved here.

Our interest and involvement in this wonderful breed has over the last 15 years turned into a passion that has taken many of our family members and dogues world wide, we have visited many of the Top European Kennels and travelled to both World and European Shows where we have ourselves taken part through Showing and Handling for other Kennels. We have over time, become Exhibitors, Importers and Exporters of Quality Dogues.

Libertia is the first kennel to import and invest in the dogues, and has over many years imported into their kennels from some of the most successful kennels world wide, Tanakajd Szepe in Hungary, De l’aube rouge in Belgium and Jerivindi in the UK,  

We have  endeavoured to incorporate into our kennels healthy dogues that are correct in both breed type standard and temperament. we have over the years both produced and made many of our Dogues into Champions.

Although showing is very much a part of our kennels it is not the most important part, good healthy family dogs that belong in happy loving homes is what for us has continued to make this breed such an important part of our lives, The friends we have made along the way and those we hope to meet have been an added bonus. We hope as you go through our site you enjoy our dogs as much as we do.
